The Position: QA Engineer

As a QA Engineer, you will be focused on manual testing, providing a great complement to automated tests already set in place.

The QA Engineer position will not be allocated to a specific team, having the opportunity to help various teams & projects, helping at different phases of the development process. This provides great context to influence the overall quality of Turbine Kreuzberg platform projects. The QA Engineer must have a different approach to problems than a technical person, going beyond to find the best ways to prevent and detect software flaws before they are implemented.

QA Engineers spend their days checking acceptance criteria, making sure we have impeccable requirements quality. Doing exploratory testing, there might be the need to write regression tests too. Having said this, it is important to have experience in using a ticketing system, especially Jira. There are no mandatory tech requirements for this role, but knowledge in Selenium or similar would be a great plus.

Our Agency

At Turbine Kreuzberg, we strive to deliver software that creates real value. Our teams develop digital platforms, implement trailblazing projects with blockchain technology and accelerate supply chain automation through IoT. For each project, we develop a joint vision and an ideal implementation strategy together with our clients and partners. And then? We get to work building the right technological solution.

We are experts in platform models and deliver suitable technologies for every project – whether for marketplaces that bring together many users in different roles, B2B procurement platforms that map large assortments and product data volumes or service platforms that establish completely new usage models. We excel at combining technologies and are proud of our reputation: we get things done.

Our Tech Stack

Our passion is e-commerce, SaaS solutions and transactional platforms, such as marketplaces and service platforms. Jira is used as the ticketing system and will be widely used by the Quality Assurance colleagues. Selenium or similar tech is possible to include as well.

In our software projects, we mainly use PHP and Typescript, and we rely on frameworks like Spryker, Symfony, API-Platform, Laravel, Next.js or Nuxt plus the latest JS framework of the month. We sometimes use platforms like Oro, Shopify, GraphCMS or Commercetools in order to keep from having to solve tasks that have already been solved. Our development and deployment cycle is built around GitLab, Docker and Kubernetes, which we use in accordance with the principle of Continuous Integration

Still, nothing is set in stone. Win us over with a new approach and we’ll change course.

Our Workflow

We give you room for creativity, work-life balance isn’t just a buzzword for us.

We work in interdisciplinary Scrum and Kanban teams, which are always arranged based on the project and each has its own specific freedoms. As a result, we are agile, and flexible and facilitate the best solution, not the ego. We believe nothing is better than working as a team. Our pair or even mob programming as a standard proves it. Make recommendations, take initiative, and handle responsibility. That’s how code libraries, new processes and a company spin-off in Portugal all came to be. Or the four-day work week, which some of us love. Putting this vast freedom to use, you can become the designer of your own agency.

Check, check, uncheck.

Don't check all the boxes – or different ones altogether? Don't let that stop you. We always like an opportunity to learn and teach new skills. Apply and add your experience to our mix!
